So, let's talk about periods. It's a totally normal part of life for half the population, but for some reason, we still avoid the topic like the plague. The "P-word" seems to be off-limits, and that’s just not right—periods are nothing to be ashamed of!

Why is it still such a big deal? Well, it all comes from old beliefs that periods were unclean or something to hide. Even though we’ve left those outdated ideas behind, the "don’t talk about it" mindset is still hanging around.

This stigma is like a weight on people’s shoulders, making them feel like they have to keep their periods a secret. It’s not healthy! People hold back, not seeking help when something’s wrong, missing school or work, and feeling bad about themselves just for being human. On top of that, in some places, it’s tough to get period supplies unless you’re really lucky or rich.

So, what can we do about it? First, let’s start talking about it openly. No whispers, no shame. We need to make sure everyone’s included in the conversation, not just people who menstruate. And, it’s crucial that period products are accessible and affordable for everyone—schools and workplaces need to step up, too, making sure people get the help they need without feeling awkward.

The bottom line is this: periods are a part of life, like breathing or having a bad hair day. So let’s normalize the conversation, make sure everyone feels supported, and stop making people feel like their bodies are some kind of secret. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves, no matter what time of the month it is!
